Soup can help you lose weight

posted Wednesday, 27 May 2009

It seems, according to reserach, that eating soup keeps you feeling fuller for longer compared to eating a nutritionally equivalent dry meal with a glass of water. You can read more about why this happens by following this link to the article on the BBC website.

I know several people who go on a soup diet to lose weight. The most extreme is my mate big Frank, who makes a special soup which contains ingredients which you actually use calories to digest. Franco eats this soup for lunch and dinner every day for a week or ten days before a big sporting event if he needs to shed a few pounds. A couple of days before the gig, he stards stuffing his face with brown rice to charge up his batteries and then he's a lean mean machine.

Franco would also agree with the research. He points out that one of the good things about his soup is that you feel full for a while after eating it. I posted Frank's recipe on my cookbook a while ago. Here's the link .
